Job Title: Study Abroad Adviser

Job Summary: To provide administrative services to support the operational activities associated with the Study Abroad and Erasmus programmes.
Job Description: Your role will provide administrative services to support the operational activities associated with the Study Abroad and Erasmus programmes and to provide high quality support services to both incoming and outgoing exchange and study abroad students. The Study Abroad programme is a self-financing, income-generating activity for the University. Key facts include an income of c£750,000, 70 exchange and fee-paying agreements with partners in Asia, Africa, North and South America, Europe and Australia, c.300 incoming students per year across 2 intakes, c.150 outgoing students, 22 subject disciplines involved. The Erasmus student and staff mobility programme is a European-funded programme. Key facts include Erasmus funding of c.€500,000, 160 bilateral student and staff exchange agreements across 22 subject disciplines and with universities in 22 countries, c.192 incoming students (2014-15: 110 semester only and 82 full year students), 134 outgoing exchange students (2014-15: 57 semester only and 77 full year students), 29 outgoing work placement students.
Requirements: You will have an excellent administrative, word-processing and IT skills, especially Word, Excel, and use of the Internet and be articulate, confident and competent in the use of database systems and electronic communications. You will have well-developed communication skills, including the ability to communicate with students for whom English is not their first language, and an excellent (tactful and confident) telephone manner and a good customer care skills together with excellent interpersonal, organisation and team working skills. You will be well-developed in organisational abilities including: attention to detail; ability to prioritise; ability to implement, maintain and initiate changes to office procedures, keep accurate records and produce status or progress reports.
